The role & about the client:
The Client is a leading Chartered Building Company offering a comprehensive service, successfully delivering a wide range of projects across all sectors within the Dorset/Hampshire/Wiltshire areas. Projects include new build and refurbishment works for clients by traditional, design & build and partnering procurement methods. They have a strong history of working within the heritage sector. Project values range from £100,000 to £6,000,000.
Based from the Winchester office, the successful candidate will be commercially responsible for all projects assigned to them. In a typical week they might:
* Prepare and submit valuations
* Certify subcontract/supplier payments
* Place subcontract orders
* Prepare Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and accruals
* Place material orders
* Attend weekly internal coordination meetings
* Prepare and issue monthly contractor reports
* Create, manage and review construction programme
* Collate RFIs and CSIs
* Maintain health and safety standards
* Review and obtain Temporary Works designs
* Provide input to the weekly labour meeting
* Manage all contract documents, including specifications, drawing and revisions

ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will –
* Have significant experience in Quantity Surveying with the ability to demonstrate personal responsibility and success.
* Have a proven track record in project surveying and financial control in order to undertake these duties on projects.
* A background in project management with experience of JCT contracts would be a distinct advantage
* Have excellent planning and organisational skills
* Have extensive experience in dealing with client professionals and subcontractors.
* Be dynamic, innovative, and able to work on one’s own initiative
* Demonstrate excellent motivational and communication skills.
* Be a true team player who is not afraid to get involved
* Hold a relevant degree, HND or professional qualification.
