Operations Manager
Gloucester
£60,000 - £65,000 per annum
  
Management of the Operations team, to ensure orders secured are procured, manufactured, assembled and delivered to customers in a timely and efficient manner, at agreed profit levels and in line with business objectives. The role will involve working with other members of the management team to drive rapid sustainable growth and ensure profitable day-to-day running company.
The Operations Manager will lead, support and be accountable for the performance of the Purchasing, Stores, Order Fulfilment Manufacturing and Production functions, with a commercial focus ensuring production output is in line with budget and customers’ expectation.
The role includes leading the execution of improvements within Operations, requiring a hunger and a continuous improvement mindset to drive ongoing efficiency and productivity gains within all parts of the operational functions, ensuring the company maintains a competitive advantage and agreed profitability in a competitive marketplace by providing the best product and service levels in the industry.

Responsibilities:

To manage and oversee daily operations, with a focus on manufacturing and assembly activities ensuring efficient project execution, regulatory compliance, and the optimisation of processes.
Ensure the effective day-to-day line management of all Operations staff, and that KPI’s are implemented and maintained to align operations and drive productivity levels
Champion health and safety for the team and support the implementation of SHEQ processes, including maintaining day-to-day H&S reporting, focusing on zero accidents but promote near miss recording
Manage all resources, including team players, third party resources, stock levels and use of space, in accordance with output/demand
Ensure a commercial focus in forecasting of manufacturing to ensure output is in line with budget and customers’ expectations
Drive agreed process improvement plans including establishing the appropriate procedures and the implementation of a KPI reporting process
Develop and drive mutually agreed strategic development plans
Mitigate and solve complex problems in line with the operational needs
Undertake any other reasonable duties commensurate with the purpose and remit of the post as agreed with management Skills and Abilities:
Experience in industrial operations, assembly, and project management in construction or manufacturing.
Experience in managing Operations Teams and Managing at a senior level.
Lean Manufacturing Experience required.
Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field Qualification
Proven experience of project supply chain management
Proven experience of production planning
Experience in managing an engineering team is beneficial
Strong understanding of sustainable supply chain practices.
Strong interpersonal skills, especially in leading technical teams and client engagement.
