Temporary Works Design Engineer

Due to their ongoing commitment to ambitious and controlled growth UK wide, our client now wishes to appoint a Temporary Works Design Engineer.

The Role

* Produce design drawings, calculations and material call offs

* Carry out checks on your own designs before offering to the Team Leader for approval

* Check other team members preliminary drawings if required

* If requested by the Senior Engineer liaise between the design team and the client

* Visit sites and offer assistance as required

* Improve your design capabilities and attend any training required if necessary

* Perform all design related duties as per company procedures and client requirements

* Keep up to-date with knowledge of industry standards and construction techniques.

The Person

* Ideally you should possess an HNC or HND in a related field or be working towards this

* You will be flexible and have a drive to excel across all aspects

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage at all levels

* Possess the relevant experience to produce designs, drawings, calculations and material call offs from within any area of the civil engineering or temporary works sector

* Develop your skills to adopt the latest software and techniques utilized by the design team

* Accept responsibility for your own actions and decisions and demonstrate commitment to accomplish your work in an ethical, efficient and cost-effective manner.

* Able to adjust your planned work by gathering relevant information and applying critical thinking to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment

* Able to effectively convey information and expresses thoughts and facts

* Able to demonstrate effective use of listening skills and displays openness to other’s ideas

* Able to meet the needs of stakeholders and responds in an appropriate manner

* Able to demonstrates a personal commitment to identify stakeholders needs

* Able to provide the highest quality service and designs to all stakeholders

* Able to work cooperatively and effectively with others to achieve common goals
