Directorate
The University of Bradford Procurement Team maximises best value and commerciality from its non-pay expenditure by providing specialist advice and support to key stakeholders on strategic and operational procurement and contract management activity. Areas of responsibility for the successful candidate will include knowledge of Public Procurement legislation; tendering processes and commercial risk; supplier deliverables, negotiation, and relationship management. You will be part of a small but impactful procurement team who interact with all areas of the University, both academic and professional services, as well as engaging with external collaborative organisations, to ensure best practice across the wider higher education sector.
Job Description
* The Associate Procurement Manager plays a key role in helping to maximise commerciality and deliver best value and cost effectiveness across a wide range of non-pay expenditure.
* The Associate Procurement Manager will lead and manage the delivery of tenders and projects, coordinating with multiple stakeholders and organisations.
* The Associate Manager will be responsible for delivering and recording Efficiencies and cost savings whilst supporting the function on its journey to deliver professional excellence.
* The Associate Procurement Manager will work alongside, and report into, the Associate Director of Procurement and/or Procurement Manager.
The Successful Applicant
* Prospective candidates will be working towards the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (MCIPS) qualification.
* Proven experience of working within a similar role in a large, complex organisation, managing end to end tendering processes
* Appropriate knowledge and experience of working to public procurement regulations.
* A proven track record of collaboration with excellent stakeholder management, communication skills and the ability to be self-directed.
