What you'll be doing;

Provide shift coverage to ensure continuous ERF operation

Assist Shift Team Leader in monitoring and operating plant from Central Control Room

Coordinate control room operations for consistent power production and steam turbine operation

Take immediate corrective action during emergencies to limit risks

Monitor and control process parameters, raw materials usage, and environmental emissions

Safely shut down and restart plant sections according to procedures

Perform emergency operations during unit trips and abnormal conditions

Carry out lockout-tagout isolations and understand applied risk hazards

Ensure compliance with Environmental Permit and report non-compliance

Conduct routine plant inspections, adjustments, and data collection

What we're looking for;

1. Knowledge / Qualifications

● IT Literate

● An understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues would be an advantage

● Interested in mechanical & electrical plant with some experience of plant operations, ideally with experience as an Engineering role Appropriate NVQ for the duties of the post

2. Ability / Experience

● Experience gained through working in a continuous process environment, preferably with experience of working shifts.

● Able to operate, or train to operate a variety of auxiliary and fixed plant.

● Able to work a continuous rotating shift pattern, including adequate voluntary overtime to cover the workload and colleagues' absences.

3. Motivation

● Self-motivated, able to prioritise tasks and work with minimal supervision.

● An effective team member, able to communicate well orally and in writing

● Flexible, with a creative approach to problem-solving
