Therapeutic educational practitioner – Immediate start – Newham
Create education are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join a team in Newham that work with neurodiverse young people ages 11 – 19 with complex profiles. The aim is to provide therapeutic community-based education for children with a range of needs including SEMH, ASD, mental health and anxiety. The pupils are unable to attend the traditional school setting due to challenging behaviour or mental health needs the successful individuals will work the student to produce a tailored plan that fits their individual needs at a pace that suits the pupil.
This role takes an individual with resilience and determination. It is a community-based role so requires someone who is prepared to be on the go. The travel will predominantly be from the hub to the student’s home and local area. The successful candidates will have substantial experience working with high-risk young people. This is a challenging environment and therefore the successful candidate will need to have the capacity to de-escalate and positively handle a situation.

Working with children with highly complex needs
Undertake inductions of new students
Create individualised timetables in consultation with parent/carer/student.
Work with the teaching and learning team.
Provide a safe and nurturing environment within the school and the community.

Substantial experience of working with high-risk young people
Must be Resilient, committed, and hard working.
Must be highly organised with good time management skills.
