This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a difference by joining this well-respected Tax function as it embarks on a transformation programme to embed digital solutions into its ways of working.
The Regional Tax Compliance and Reporting Manager will oversee the tax accounting and reporting for the EUNA region in support of the Group’s external reporting requirements. They will also work on the review of tax with external auditors and provide corporation tax compliance support to regional finance teams.
The Tax function is growing and changing, and The Regional Tax Compliance & Reporting Manager will have a central role in setting the future direction of compliance in their region and will thrive if they have a process improvement mindset and a drive for change.
Duties and responsibilities of the Regional Tax Compliance & Reporting Manager
Oversee the delivery of quarterly and full year tax reporting for the EUNA region, working with local finance teams to actively support them in delivering their reporting obligations to Group Tax.
Act as subject matter expert to local finance teams in the production of the annual tax reporting for standalone financial statements.
Support the tax compliance for their region, working with local finance teams and the Regional Tax Managers to ensure robust and timely compliance.
Lead the planning, co-ordination and delivery of UK corporate tax compliance (tax computations, returns and filings, quarterly tax payments, tax payment forecasts and responses to HMRC enquiries) with support from one direct report.
Delivery of training and support to local finance teams to ensure that tax accounting is standardised across their region and meets the requirements set by the Group Tax Department.
Review and monitoring of withholding tax accounting processes across the region.
Ongoing monitoring of certain key risk areas alongside local finance teams to ensure that the group can meet its reporting obligations under BEPS Pillar 2.0, including training local teams on required changes with the support of the Group Tax Compliance & Reporting Manager.
Maintain the corporate tax process and control environment.
Lead tax accounting aspects of current and future accounting or operational changes in their region relevant to the group.
Acting as the lead in their region for the group’s tax workflow management tool, advising colleagues of best practice usage and ensuring Group data remains accurate.
Contribute to the continued improvement of the group’s tax processes and to future tax technology projects related to tax accounting, reporting and tax compliance.
Support Regional Tax Managers with local projects on an ad-hoc basis.
Support the Head of Tax Compliance & Reporting in managing and facilitating the UK RDEC claim (partially outsourced).
Candidate Specification
Essential:
· Accounting and/ or tax qualified (or qualified by experience).
· Strong UK tax compliance experience.
· Demonstrable process improvement mindset.
· Strong project management, organisational and communication skills.
Desirable:
· In-house experience
· Multi-national experience
· Knowledge and experience of making claims under the UK RDEC scheme.
· Experience of implementing tax accounting or tax compliance technology solutions and/or using technology solutions for data analysis and process improvement.
