Job Title: Deputy Manager / Registered Manager – Children's Residential Care
Location: Derbyshire
About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join a brand-new 3-bed children’s residential care home in Derbyshire as either a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager. With all registration and compliance already completed, this is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a new service and put your own stamp on how things are done from day one.

Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership & Operations: Lead the day-to-day running of the home, providing clear guidance and support to the staff team and ensuring a safe, positive culture for both children and colleagues.
* Regulatory Compliance: Maintain full compliance with Ofsted and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, including all quality standards and inspection frameworks.
* Safeguarding: Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, promoting the safety, welfare and rights of all young people in your care.
* Care Planning: Oversee the development and implementation of tailored care and placement plans, ensuring each young person receives support aligned with their needs and goals.
* Staff Development: Recruit, induct, and supervise staff, fostering professional growth, accountability, and a strong team ethos.
* Partnership Working: Engage proactively with families, local authorities, social workers, and external professionals to ensure excellent outcomes for the children.
Essential Criteria:
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
– or Level 4 with a commitment to completing the relevant Level 5 qualification within an agreed timeframe
* At least 2 years' experience in a leadership role within a children’s residential setting
* Comprehensive knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding legislation, and relevant care standards
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a staff team
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Flexibility to work varied hours and take part in the on-call rota
Desirable:
* Experience opening or setting up new residential services
* A commitment to therapeutic, child-centred care models
* Experience in driving continuous improvement within a regulated care environment
