Location: York Full Sutton
Salary: £26,000 to £28,000 depending on experience, amazing benefits!
Working Hours:
This is a full-time role, 38.5 hours per week, with the following schedule:
• Four days per week: 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• One half-day per week: either 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM or 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM
The Role
We’re seeking a motivated Waste Management Workshop Facilitator to lead a team of disengaged learners and supporting environmental sustainability goals. through impactful waste management services.
This is an opportunity to drive change by:
* Enhancing recycling rates,
* Eliminating single-use plastics,
* Contributing to net-zero targets,
Training and coaching small groups providing them with valuable skills and qualifications in a growing industry.
Duties:
You’ll manage the waste collection, processing, and disposal operations
* Promoting skills development through WAMITAB qualifications.
* This role is pivotal in helping your team to gain employable skills, meet environmental goals, and foster personal accountability.
* Supervise and mentor the waste management processes, tailoring support and training to build valuable skills for future employment.
* Support sustainability targets, including achieving a 90% recycling rate,
* Oversee formal WAMITAB training, for careers in waste management and recycling.
* Manage waste collection, processing, and disposal across the estate, adhering to safety, security, and environmental standards.
* Oversee inventory and tool safety, ensuring necessary stock levels, proper equipment use, and compliance with security protocols.
* Work closely with contractors for waste services, overseeing activities and ensuring adherence to security measures.
The successful candidate must pass security vetting for this role , enhanced background checks covering employment history, criminal records, and right-to-work verification, as well as social media screening in line with security policies.
