My client is a multi-disciplined Tier One Civil Engineering contractor based in the Northwest. Their civil engineering division delivers projects up to the value of £20M within the highways, bridges, public realm and retaining walls sectors. They also have a very healthy water-based side to the business and do lots of work for clients such as United Utilities and Welsh Water. This work covers the AMP 8 framework and provides lots of safe and secure work for the coming years. There are 800 people in the business and they currently turn over around £220M a year. They self deliver all their works and have built up an excellent reputation within the industry evidenced by them being part of the AMP 8 framework.
About the role
The ideal candidate will have site construction experience as a Project Manager working with water related projects. Types of works will include pumping station refurb, electrical commissioning, civils pipework, underground tanks, new pumps, refurbs and clean and wastewater treatment works. You will be looking after up to 30 projects in and around North Wales as part of the Welsh Water framework. These projects range in value from £100,000 up to £10M. You will play an important part in stopping pollution going into the local rivers. You will be part of a new team which they are building and you will be reporting into the Framework manager. The office is based in St.Asaph in North Wales and you will be there 2 days a week with the rest of the week being either at home or jumping between sites.
Requirements
You will have significant experience within Utilities and more specifically within the clean and wastewater sectors. In-depth technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, and water/wastewater operations, including construction delivery and commissioning. You will need a CSCS and an SMSTS cards and will ideally have a civil engineering degree.
