We are seeking Port Operatives to join our expanding Operations Team. You will be working with a port client based within vessel loading and unloading operations in a fast-paced environment managing a variety of cargos.
The focus of the role is to ensure that all operations involving our customer's cargo are carried out safely and efficiently whilst delivering great customer service. This is an excellent opportunity if you are looking for a varied role - one day you could be loading the lorries, another you will be working on the vessel. If you enjoy being part of a highly skilled team.
This role is open to people with or without prior sector experience and offers specific ports training. This is an opportunity to turn a job into a rewarding career.

The Job Role
· Working as a Port Operative ensuring the safe discharge of vessels and quayside duties
· A rostered of days, nights and weekends - Successful candidates must be able to complete all shifts with flexibility to vessel traffic requirements.
· Working on the quayside providing labouring duties and slinger banksman
· Working as a Stevedore
· Operating machinery such as Forklifts, Shovels, Excavators, Cranes and Hoppers
· All Port operative duties as required.

The Successful Candidate
· Previous experience working as a Port Operative / Stevedore / Heavy Plant Operative is highly desirable but not essential as training provided.
· Extremely H&S conscientious at all times.
· IOSH qualifications are an advantageous but not essential as training provided.
· Previous experience as a slinger banksman, hold or quayside is highly desirable but not essential as training provided.
· Forklift truck or heavy plant and machinery is advantageous.
· Flexible approach to work.
· Confident working outdoors in an industrial environment.
· Team player
