The Role

* Conduct independent research and study on new and emerging technologies in mission-critical engineering, aiding their integration into test designs when suitable.

* Communicate new engineering solutions with clients and internal teams and contributes to CPD development to spread the latest knowledge across the business.

* Handles design tasks, taking responsibility for preparing new and innovative engineering designs for mechanical or electrical installations, including selecting cooling and power equipment and sizing pipes, ducts, cables, and busbars.

* Promotes the development of new designs aimed at optimizing the operational, construction, and environmental impact of energy systems, working towards achieving net zero impact energy solutions for complex buildings and applications.

* Coordinates with various suppliers, contractors, and other professionals regarding design and installation coordination.

* Modifies specifications using word processing or spreadsheet software.

* Shows interest in reliability modeling for mission-critical applications.

* Expresses interest in whole life cycle analysis (WLCA).

* Assists in delivering projects following the Project Delivery Process, ensuring adherence to project management, financial management, QA/QC, and technical review standards.

Role Requirements

* MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering

* Chartered or working towards chartership

* Ability to conduct research and the desire to do so

* Excellent presentation skills

* Able to write technical reports

* Excel proficient
