Job Title: Immersion Ultrasonic Technician

Location: Rotherham

Salary: £32k with shift allowance included

Shifts: Mornings and afters

Metalis is working in partnership with an engineering company who are actively recruiting for a technician to join an expanding team in Rotherham.

Duties and Responsibilities

Inspection of components utilising immersion ultrasonic equipment and techniques.
Validation and maintenance of the laboratory equipment.
Set up and calibrate equipment in order to ensure a satisfactory inspection.
Perform tests, interpret and evaluate the results with respect to applicable codes, standards and specifications, document and report.
Ensure that testing is carried out to the relevant technical and quality specifications.
Prepare and develop written instructions (data cards) from approved general procedures.
Assisting with other NDT methods.Skills / Qualifications

Experience in Aerospace or other heavily regulated sector
Experience working within an engineering and / or Laboratory environment
Level 2 qualified in Ultrasonic inspection, preferably with experience in Immersion Inspection.
Level 1 or 2 qualified in LPI, MPI and/or ET would be beneficial.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as testing procedures, NDT data cards, testing specifications and quality documentation.
Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.
Good general standard of education including English and Math's
Excellent attention to detail
Satisfactory oral and written communication skills to communicate testing resultsShifts and Salary

Salary starting £32,000 plus shift allowance at 12%.
Mornings, 6am-2pm.
Afters, 1.45pm-12pm, Thursday 1.45pm-10.30pm.
12 weeks temporary to permanent position. Long term our client is looking to move to a 3-shift pattern, but this wouldn't be until approx. 1 year which would move the shift allowance up 20%.
