Are you a tenacious problem solver with a passion for supporting others? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Rent Arrears Officer to join our client's dynamic team in the public sector. Responsibilities:

Proactively manage and reduce rent arrears cases, working closely with tenants to develop sustainable payment plans and support them in meeting their financial responsibilities.
Provide expert advice and guidance to tenants on budgeting, welfare benefits, and housing regulations, enabling them to maintain successful tenancies.
Collaborate with colleagues in the housing department to identify early intervention strategies and implement procedures to prevent arrears and housing instability.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and actions taken regarding rent arrears cases, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
Act as a point of contact for tenants, answering queries and resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
Liaise with external agencies, such as debt advice services and welfare benefits teams, to provide holistic support to tenants facing financial difficulties.Requirements:

Experience in a similar role, ideally within a public sector housing environment.
Strong knowledge of rent arrears management and current housing legislation.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to empathise and build rapport with tenants from diverse backgrounds.
Proven problem-solving abilities, with a tenacious and proactive approach to resolving complex issues.
