Mechanical Design Engineer vacancy with an established manufacturer based near Huddersfield.

The business design, manufacture and supply a range of industrial machinery – the products are bespoke, technically involved and challenging, and the role requires a high calibre engineer.

Duties of the job to include:

* Mechanical design of industrial equipment as per customer requirements.

* Understanding from the customer the exact requirements and scope of the project.

* Working with colleagues, particularly in Design, Projects and Production to provide best mechanical design solutions

* Performing necessary calculations and analysis to ensure integrity of designs

* Production of BOMS, and technical drawings for shop floor production – fabrications, machined components and assemblies.

Requirements

* Experienced mechanical design engineer, probably with 4-5 years’ experience plus

* Worked on the design of capital industrial equipment or machinery

* Understanding of materials and methods of manufacture

* Probably degree qualified

* Able to perform technical analysis, relevant calculations and to act independently.

* Motivated and a good attitude to work
