We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Groundworks Project Manager to join our team. This key role will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the successful delivery of groundworks projects at a waste centre, managing all aspects of the project lifecycle from planning to completion.
This project will take place at the Bromley Waste Centre. The work involves replacing concrete slabs in both the covered and uncovered areas of the waste transfer station, as well as in the external yard areas. It will also include repairs and upgrades to the drainage systems, with a focus on managing firewater runoff. Additionally, fire detection and suppression systems will be installed throughout the waste transfer stations, including tanks, pumps, sprinklers, and interlocking concrete block walls to segregate waste piles. The project will also cover a full refurbishment of the deteriorating waste transfer station shed structure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Develop Detailed Project Plans: Create comprehensive, stage-by-stage plans that outline how each project phase will be executed and achieved.
* Communicate Effectively: Maintain open and calm communication with staff at all levels, ensuring clarity and strong team morale throughout the project.
* Resolve Issues and Delays: Proactively address any obstacles, delays, or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
* Demonstrate Comprehensive Construction Knowledge: Utilize a deep understanding of all construction processes to guide decisions and problem-solving.
* Support Junior Project Managers: Manage multiple projects simultaneously while mentoring and supporting junior project managers to ensure team success.
Skills & Requirements:
* Preferably degree qualified with a Construction related degree
* 5 yrs’ minimum Experience within a similar Groundworks and Concrete frame role
* Valid CSCS card
* Must be proficient with CAD and producing drawings
* Be able to demonstrate having previously worked in groundworks and on RC Frame / Concrete frame structures
* Sound knowledge of construction methods, Health & Safety and legal regulations
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with site-based team and Clients
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Proven troubleshooting skills
