Renault Retail Group seeks a PDI / Vehicle Prep Technician to join our dealership’s PDI Department in Trinty Way, Manchester M3.

The PDI / Vehicle Prep Technician role will involve carrying our pre-delivery inspection (PDIs) and sales preparation work on new and used cars and vans at Renault Retail Group’s flagship dealership.

Pre-delivery inspections generally comprise fitting of number plates, check-listing vehicle functions & parts/accessory inventory on each vehicle, occasional minor repairs on new and used cars and vans and when necessary, arranging more extensive technical work to be carried out by our on-site specialist technicians. The regular portfolio of vehicles include Renault, Nissan, and Dacia cars and vans as well as approved used vehicles from other makes and manufacturers. This will be a busy role in terms of volume and varied in regards to the cars and vans worked on.

Ideal candidates for our PDI / Vehicle Prep Technician position will be recently qualified candidates with City & Guilds Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair qualifications. Some experience in repair of passenger vehicles and/or commercial vehicles would be helpful.

All candidates MUST HAVE their own tool kit, steel-capped protective footwear, a full and clean UK Driver’s licence and be able to bring their vehicle repair & maintenance qualification certificates to an interview.

The core hours for our PDI / Vehicle Prep Technician are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm with 30 min lunch, plus 1-in-4 Saturday mornings on rota, 8:30am to 12:30pm.

In return we provide a salary of up to £30,600 pa basic salary, plus bonus scheme based on volume and accuracy of completed work.

Additional Saturday overtime beyond the core 1-in-4 rota is available on request and is paid at time-and-a-half. You can also volunteer for occasional Sunday and Bank Holiday work which is at double pay.
