Quantity Surveyor – Scotland Wide – Up to £57k DOE + Car Allowance + Package
First Task Professional are currently working alongside a civil engineering contractor who are gearing up for an extremely busy few years with multiple wins within big civil engineering projects in the energy / power sector.
As such, they have a requirement for QS’s to work on projects in both the delivery stages and pre-construction.

Naturally, most substations and converter stations are in more remote locations… so there is a high likelihood of having to work away (with hybrid working) for the jobs.
Role Profile:
* Uphold safety and environmental standards per company policy.
* Communicate effectively with project managers, Managing QS, and engineering teams.
* Supervise and mentor junior commercial staff.
* Represent the company professionally in client meetings.
* Manage supply chain commercial activities, including tendering, contract discussions, and subcontractor agreements.
* Oversee subcontractor payments and final account negotiations.
* Monitor site costs and produce timely performance data.
* Prepare and present monthly and quarterly cost reports to senior management.
* Contribute commercial insights to project strategy and performance discussions.
* Ensure compliance with Risk and Opportunity management protocols.
* Promote and suggest improvements to company procedures.
* Manage change processes and ensure timely payment applications.
* Provide contractual advice to the site team.
* Participate in site commercial meetings.
* Manage your time and the commercial team efficiently.
* Assist in delivering commercial training to site staff.
