Company Overview
Fairmead are working with a well-established and highly regarded main contractor, renowned for delivering exceptional design and build projects across the commercial, education, healthcare, and industrial sectors. With a strong pipeline of secured work, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to take full ownership of new-build and refurbishment projects up to £15M in Cambridge and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and manage new-build and design and build projects from pre-construction through to completion.

* Develop, implement, and maintain detailed construction programmes, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.

* Oversee all site operations, managing subcontractors and direct labour to ensure high-quality delivery.

* Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.

* Take full ownership of cost control, procurement, and risk management, ensuring projects remain within budget.

* Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders, acting as the key point of contact.

* Monitor and manage quality assurance, ensuring work is delivered to the highest standards.

* Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving issues efficiently to maintain programme momentum.

Candidate Requirements

* Proven experience as a Project Manager, delivering design and build projects up to £15M.

* A stable and consistent employment history, demonstrating loyalty, adaptability, and progression.

* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.

* Extensive knowledge of JCT and design and build contracts.

* Commercially astute, with experience managing project budgets, cost control, and value engineering.

* Relevant qualifications including CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid, and Temporary Works Coordinator.
