Due to our continued success and growing portfolio, we are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team and lead key projects.
Role Overview
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of new build projects under JCT contracts. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control and procurement, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the entire quantity surveying function for new build projects, from inception through to completion.
Prepare and review detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans in line with project requirements.
Provide detailed quantity take-offs and produce bills of quantities for contractors and suppliers.
Monitor project financial performance, including reporting and forecasting costs against the agreed budget.
Administer and manage JCT contracts, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Conduct regular valuations and manage variation orders, claims, and change control.
Lead the procurement process, including the preparation of tender documentation, contractor selection, and contract negotiation.
Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors, fostering their professional development.
Liaise closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and project success.
Qualifications & Experience
A degree in Quantity Surveying (or a related field), and MRICS (Chartered) status is highly preferred.
At least [X] years of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, with proven expertise in managing new build projects under JCT contracts.
In-depth understanding of construction contracts, particularly JCT, and their application in large-scale projects.
Strong experience in cost planning, budget management, and cost control.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in using cost management software and Microsoft Office tools.
