Our client is currently recruiting for a Lead ROV Maintenance Mechanical / Hydraulic Technician. The role is on a permanent basis and will include a mixture of offshore and onshore working. Due to the nature of the role, we would advise that candidates applying live within commutable distance to Aberdeen
ROLE
Provide Mechanical/Hydraulic technical support during ROV maintenance periods offshore or at quayside. To supervise team of other ROV Maintenance technicians. In addition to provide mechanical/hydraulic support for all workshop activities related to the maintenance and upgrade ROV system equipment at Aberdeen, Trieste or other company workshops.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To carry out mechanical/hydraulic maintenance during ROV maintenance periods offshore and at quayside on ROV and Equipment systems (ROV, TMS, Winch. HPU, A-frame, etc.) in accordance with company procedures and under direction of ROV Technical manager.
To supervise other mechanical/hydraulic and electrical ROV maintenance technicians
To be available to mobilise at short notice to assist offshore ROV crews with mechanical / hydraulic technical support or fault finding when necessary
To strip down, reinstate and test ROV System mechanical/hydraulic components offshore, e.g. ROV/TMS Mechanical/hydraulic systems, Winches, and A-Frames HPU’s, etc.
To assist with commissioning of ROV system and equipment when mobilized to vessel
To carry out site assessments of ROV System and equipment recommending short term and long-term maintenance actions
To carry out ROV audits and site inspections, reviewing general condition of system and ensuring that all Safety & Quality processes are in place
Assist at all workshops in all maintenance and repair activities as required to maintain the Company's assets in full operational mode. Conduct refurbishment, maintenance and repairs on all relevant equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and guidelines.
To become familiar with and to maintain awareness of company’s current requirements / procedures / policies and where applicable, the latest Industry Codes and Standards including statutory rules and regulations.
To ensure that all activities are carried out in a manner consistent with company policy on health, safety, quality and environmental matters in accordance with company specific procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
Required Experience and Skills:
ONC level or Industry education and/or training in Engineering, Mechanical/Hydraulic disciplines and time served.
Desirable Experience:
Good general Mechanical/Hydraulic background
Experience of supervising offshore ROV technicians
Previous Experience as a ROV Pilot Tech and/or ROV Workshop Technician
Good experience with maintenance and upgrade processes related to ROV systems and equipment
Good experience and ability to operate and fault find ROV systems and equipment
Full Offshore Medical and Survival

Training specific to company procedures will be provided
