Principal Design Engineer

£60,000+ (depending upon experience)

Leeds (hybrid working)

YOUR NEW ROLE

*

Working on projects related to tunnelling and above-ground structures

*

Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians

*

Manage the team's deliverables

*

Working to tight deadlines

*

Implement temporary works design principles

*

Permanent works design standards - creating solutions in timber, steel, reinforced concrete, and proprietary structural systems

*

Coordinate with external consultants and third-party checkers

*

Engage with clients and project construction teams

*

Generate reports and communications for clients

*

Lead the design approval process (NR and HE) and collaborate with the internal team on engineering development

MUST HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

*

Experience in designing underground structures and tunnelling temporary works

*

MSC in Civil and Structural Engineering OR Degree in Geotechnical and Mining

*

Design consultancy experience

*

Chartered status or working towards

*

CDM Health and Safety knowledge

*

Technical skills in structural design skills

*

Skilled in structural design and with a strong understanding of geotechnical principles

*

A natural leader, capable of fostering the professional growth of junior engineers

SALARY AND BENEFITS

*

£60,000+basic salary

*

Death in Service (4X annual salary)

*

Pension (company 5% / 4% employee)

*

31 days annual leave (inc BH)

*

Hybrid working
