LS Engineering Shropshire Ltd is a robust engineering and manufacturing Company predominantly serving the food industry but also a multitude of other industries. We offer a start to finish service to our customers for their required engineering solutions. This includes but is not limited to computer aided designing, sheet metal work, conveyor solutions, fabrications, structural steelwork, laser cutting, site work with installations and machine maintenance services.

We are currently recruiting a CAD design engineer from a sheet metal, stainless steel and mechanical handling background. The successful candidate will work alongside the production manager and managing director to help design purpose-built equipment required by our highly regarded customers taking their ideas from concept to full design ready for manufacture.

The role:

As a design engineer you will be responsible for:

* Leading and controlling the design on multiple projects

* Creating cost effective solutions to the creation of current and new products

* Designing complete systems including various sub-assemblies and mechanisms

* Input in development activities

* Validation via reviews, stress analysis, assembly tolerances and testing

The ideal candidate for this role requires:

* Degree level or equivalent design engineering qualification

* Competent in the use of CAD software (Solidworks) +

* Experience in sheet metal/conveyor/general equipment knowledge

* Experience in testing and experimenting with prototypes

* Experience within the food industry
