TeacherActive is collaborating with a SEND school located in Colchester. This school serves students with behavioural, emotional, social, and mental health (SEMH) needs between the ages of 10 and 16. They are searching for self-assured people to start as learning support assistants on their team right now.

Being employed at a fantastic school with first-rate facilities for students and staff will allow you to see directly how these things encourage children to realise their full potential and feel important.

Boys who have been moved out of mainstream schools are specifically served by the school. In addition, there are kids in the school with attachment difficulties and kids on the autistic spectrum. Although it is not required, the ideal learning support assistant would have prior experience working with these needs. The school would be happy to speak with you if you are a compassionate and driven people who aspires to make the greatest difference in the lives of these children.

Everyone employed by a school must have an upgraded DBS on file with the updating service. If you don't, we can help by providing you with a direct application link. An OSPC (Overseas Police Check) is required if you have worked abroad for more than six months in the last five years. All school environments will need to have these as a safeguarding measure.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience with SEND students as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant
 Excellent classroom management
An NVQ Level 2 or higher Teaching Assistant qualification preferably
Child and Adult DBS
Experience working with Autism
