Saw Operator

Liversedge, WF15 – Must live within a commutable distance

Salary: £12 - £14 per hour

Permanent, Full time

We are one of the leading manufacturers in the manufacture and installation of architectural metalwork in the north of England, serving many blue-chip companies with the procurement of our metalwork.

Due to expansion, we are now on the lookout for a Saw Operator to join our team in Liversedge.

Main duties & Responsibilities:

Operate saws in a safely and effect manner
Unloading of lorries, identify and store all stock material entering steelyard
Checking material allocated to be cut, length, width, thickness, spec, cast number before cutting
Program saw for cutting operation
Operating fork trucks and overhead cranes
Manual lifting
Marking of material with cast numbers
To maintain good housekeeping standards within the workshop and steelyard
To support the company with business objectives
To comply with safety procedures and legislations
To ensure continuity of production of quality parts ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved
to be flexible and adaptable of work areas and overtime to support the business
Knowledge and Experience:

Previous experience within a similar role preferable
Experience operating machinery
Ability to plan and perform a sequence of operations using own initiative
Current forklift license an advantage
Previous crane operation experience
Initiative and flexibility
Knowledge and application of safe working practices
Knowledge and experience in quality systems and procedures
Good communication and Mathematical skills
