Structural Steel / Architectural Metalwork Estimator

I am currently seeking an experienced estimator to join our dynamic team, you will play a pivotal role in the pre-construction phase, collaborating closely with our clients, design team, and project managers to prepare accurate cost estimates for metalwork projects of varying scale and complexity.

Key Responsibilities:

* Analyse project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to accurately assess project requirements.

* Quantify materials, labour, and other resources needed for metalwork projects.

* Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, considering factors such as material costs, labour costs, equipment costs, and overheads.

* Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.

* Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.

* Participate in project meetings to provide insights on cost-related matters and contribute to value engineering efforts.

* Maintain accurate records of estimates, pricing data, and project documentation.

* Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase and provide regular updates to project stakeholders.

Requirements:

* Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

* Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on architectural and structural metalwork is essential.

* Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and industry standards.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programmes.

* Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.

* Effective communication and negotiation skills.

* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Estimator to join our team.

Schedule: Monday to Friday – 8:00am – 5:00pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £45,000.00-£60,000.00 per year, subject to experience
