An exceptional design, development and manufacturing business in the Thame area are seeking to add an additional Mechanical Design Engineer to the team. You will join a successful company and leading industry supplier offering stable and long-term career prospects.

The Mechanical Design Engineer Role:

The Design Engineer will work in a close-knit team creating drawings, BOM’s and additional product options to meet the clients’ specific requirements and technical specifications. As part of a team dedicated to supporting the delivery of post-sales contracts you will ensure that the products and services meet expectation. This will require the following duties:-

* Working closely with different teams internally and externally; Design Engineers, Technical Support, Technical Authors, Customer during specification meets.

* Reviewing of incoming orders, confirming details, specifications and customer quotes correspond.

* Agree required changes with the customer ensuring all data and BOM’s are updated accordingly.

* Produce detailed 3D CAD drawings with any relevant changes to existing product lines or devise new products or components to meet client requirements.

* See any design developments through necessary prototyping and trialling processes.

* Produce manufacturable drawings ensuring adherence to quality standards and industry regulations.

The Successful candidate:

* Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer and CAD operator – Siemens NX preferred or alternatively SolidWorks / Solid Edge.

* Understanding of Product Lifecycle Management and any related PLM software.

* BOM generation.

* Sound mechanical experience and ideally a good understanding of electrical systems and drawings.

* Attention to details, highly organised and clear communicator.

* Self-starter, able to work autonomously and be a team-player.
