Quality Manager – Precision Machining and Assembly

Permanent Circa £60,000 + Benefits Package
This is an excellent opportunity to join a precision machining and assembly business in Oldham as Quality Manager.
THE ROLE
As Quality Manager you will lead the quality team in this bespoke precision machine shop ans assembly business and will have responsibility for:
* Quality Assurance activity within the production facility
* Representing the business whilst dealing with customer quality enquiries and warranty issues
* Working with the customer to reduce defects and improve manufacturing processes
* Working with both customers and suppliers to manage source change and ensure conformity
* Reviewing and improving processes to drive a ‘Right First Time’ culture
* Focusing heavily on problem-solving and root cause analysis using recognised techniques such as 8D, 5Y, Ishikawa
* Completing regular quality audits and contributing to the ISO9001 and customer approvals
* Proactively building relationships with key customers to maintain and improve quality performance

THE PERSON
* You will be an experienced Quality Manager with a background in a regulated industry such as oil & gas, nuclear, automotive, aerospace or rail.
* With the focus being on developing a ‘Right First Time’ culture, you will be used to working with Technical Drawings and have the ability to produce clear and user friendly SOPs
* A knowledge of GD&T and metrology would be a clear advantage as you will be working to tight tolerances on all components
* As you will be the ‘face of quality’ you will be an excellent communicator and will be comfortable being the first point of contact with the customer.
* Finally, you will be a positive communicator and will have the ability to engage equally well with the shop floor, senior management and external customers and suppliers
* This is an onsite role so you would need to be commutable to Oldham with legal right to work in the UK
