Location: Carrington, Greater Manchester, M31 4BL
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, DOE + UNCAPPED BONUS!
Contract: Full-time, permanent - Monday to Friday - 8:30am-5:00pm (Office Based)

Freight Account Manager – The Role
Scan Europe Logistics is seeking an experienced freight forwarding specialist to join their expanding team in Carrington, Manchester!
The ideal candidate will have robust operational knowledge, sales confidence & an entrepreneurial mindset. Somebody with the ability to come on board, bring accounts, generate new business and grow the existing client base.
As a Freight Account Manager, you will be required to handle each customer’s freight requirements from start to finish, with the freedom to use suppliers of your choice. It’s a role that you can really make your own!
Key Responsibilities;
• Manage a portfolio of clients, coordinating and tracking shipments from initiation to completion.
• Process customer bookings via email/phone using in-house IT systems.
• Handle all operational aspects of import and export movements.
• Provide quotations for freight services (groupage/full loads to and from Europe or worldwide by Air/Sea).
• Arrange and prepare customs documentation.
• Negotiate rates with airlines, carriers, and customs clearing agents to maximise profitability.
• Maintain and build positive relationships with suppliers.
• Respond to customer enquiries promptly, ensuring customer-focused resolutions.
• Offer accurate information to accounts and management for efficient administration.
• Stay updated on market developments and competitor information.
• Promote the business to new and existing clients.
• Conduct friendly telesales calls (Outbound) and arrange face-to-face sales visits to secure new business.
• Flexibility to travel for client meetings.
Freight Account Manager – What we need from you
Key Skills & Responsible;
• Minimum 3 years’ operational experience in a Freight Forwarding / Sales role.
• Strong knowledge of Roadfreight, Airfreight, or Seafreight.
• Understanding of UK Customs requirements post-Brexit.
• Extensive network of contacts within shipping lines, freight forwarders, importers/exporters.
• Full, clean UK driving licence.
