Job Title: Facilities & Maintenance Operative
Location: Royston
Working Hours: 20hrs per week, 7:30am – 12:30pm (can be flexible)
Type: Permanent
Salary: £25,500 FTE
Our highly established and award-winning client are seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Operative to join their team on a Permanent basis.
They are looking for a well-rounded candidate who can adapt to a high number of different tasks, who ideally comes from a Production & Mechanical background.
Main duties as a Facilities & Maintenance Operative:
Ensure an adequate supply of the required consumables and materials to ensure the least amount of disruption to the company’s production activities.
Undertake a range of building maintenance tasks, both reactive and preventative to a high standard and in a safe manner.
General housekeeping and carrying out additional tasks as required to ensure each production area is kept tidy & organised.
Assist in keeping all production and storage areas in a clean, organised and safe condition at all times.
Using supplied machinery to clean production floors.
Trouble shoot and problem solve minor maintenance/building repair issues.
Conduct regular inspections to determine areas that need attention and then perform tasks.
To ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and duty of care.
Responsible for waste management
Organising, welcoming, and hosting contractors onsite
Taking full responsibility of managing external contractor contracts, such as the cleaning contract, including liaising with Finance and Contractors to resolve invoicing queries
Key Holder responsibilities (out-of-hour contact for security alarms).
Requirements & Skills needed as a Facilities & Maintenance Operative:
Experience of working in a similar position
Mechanical & production experience essential
Ability to be self-sufficient, self-motivated, and work alone
Must be able to demonstrate physical agility and manual dexterity.
Punctual, reliable, motivated and willing to work both independently and as part of a team.
Mechanical engineering experience
A good level of communication skills is essential
