Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Reading
Contract Length: 12 Months
Pay Rates: Up To £80 hour (Umbrella)
Job Purpose:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will provide mechanical designs for the Facility Design Authority (FDA) to ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and engineering requirements throughout the facility lifecycle.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Deliver mechanical designs that meet safety and performance requirements.
Maintain an understanding of relevant legislative documentation and standards.
Ensure designs comply with engineering legislation, standards, and requirements.
Create mechanical engineering designs addressing defined requirements across the engineering lifecycle.
Maintain design intent in collaboration with other disciplines.
Apply engineering best practices and elevate concerns to the Principal Engineer.
Working knowledge of legislation and standards in mechanical engineering design.
Competency in standard office software and engineering tools.
Qualifications:

ONC / OND or equivalent in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
HNC / HND or equivalent in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
Professional Memberships: Membership of an engineering institution at Eng. Tech level is preferred.
Knowledge of legislation and standards for nuclear and/or high hazard facilities. (Desired)
Proven experience in producing mechanical designs as part of a multi-discipline team. (Desired)
Experience in a highly regulated environment, preferably nuclear and/or explosives. (Desired)
