VR Games Developer

A unique opportunity to join an early-stage Ed-Tech software company with a brilliant platform that is set to revolutionise the way students learn in immersive and realistic environments. This company which is founded by experts in education has a platform in place but now needs a VR Games Developer to take the platform to the next level by designing developing and deploying captivating VR Games.

Please note employment for this role will commence in October 2024, so may not be suited to those seeking immediate employment. However, may be well suited to a professional who has returned to University to complete a Masters or Ph.D. further into their career.

Location: 4 days a week remote - 1 day in office in Cambridge. Part-time working options available (minimum of 3 days per week)

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum + benefits

Requirements for VR Games Developer:

* Strong commercial experience in VR Development in Unity or Unreal Engine

* Experience with VR optimisation techniques & best practices

* Proficiency in C# or C++ with ability to quickly learn new languages

* Degree educated in Computer Science, Game Development, or a closely related subject

* Keen to work in a start-up environment as an early-stage employee

* Strong analytical skills

* Ability to work with autonomy and as part of a team

* Great communication skills with fluent spoken and written English

* It would be an added benefit if you have knowledge of 3D modelling or animation

* A portfolio of work is strongly preferred - please include a link on your CV, if available

Responsibilities for VR Games Developer:

* Create, develop, and implement VR games using leading game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine.

* Optimise game performance for seamless gameplay across 3D and VR platforms.

* Identify and resolve technical issues to maintain top-tier quality and performance.

* Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies in VR and gaming.

* Participate actively in code reviews and contribute to team-wide knowledge sharing.

* Assist in generating comprehensive game documentation and assets.

* Collaborate with AI developers, back-end developers, and designers to craft engaging and interactive gaming experiences.
