About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Lift Service Engineer to join our client's team in Newcastle. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing lift systems across a variety of sites. You will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards, while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Routine Maintenance: Conduct planned preventative maintenance on a range of lift systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
* Fault Diagnosis & Repairs: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize system downtime.
* Emergency Call-Outs: Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide rapid, effective solutions.
* Customer Interaction: Maintain professional relationships with clients, providing clear updates and advice regarding lift performance and service requirements.
* Documentation: Accurately complete service reports, logbooks, and compliance paperwork.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to health and safety guidelines and industry regulations, including LOLER and EN81 standards.
* Team Collaboration: Liaise with the service team and support colleagues as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
* NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering or equivalent qualification (essential).
* Proven experience in lift servicing and repair, with expertise in a range of lift types and manufacturers.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
* Valid UK driving license (essential).
Desirable:
* Experience working on both traction and hydraulic lift systems.
* Knowledge of modern lift technology and remote monitoring systems.
* CSCS card or equivalent certification.
