Abatec is assisting a highly reputable Civil Engineering contractor with the recruitment of a HSE Manager to be an integral part of their company and ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental standards and legislation is upheld across the business.
My client, with a turnover in excess of £80 million, delivers Highways projects across the South West of England with values ranging from £3M to £20M. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company and have input in growing the Health & Safety team.
As HSE Manager you will:
* Be a driving force in developing innovative ways to promote Health & Safety awareness and culture.
* Provide advice and expertise on project-based Health & Safety issues/occurrences
* Be proactive in offering improvements and development to incident plans.
* Be an advocate of H+S culture by providing training and consultation.
* Work with subcontractors, vetting them before works are conducted, and monitor and report on conduct during delivery of multiple projects.
Our client is looking for a HSE Manager with:
* Relevant H&S Qualifications (NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate – minimum)
* IOSH membership
* Experience with large civil engineering schemes, specifically on Highway projects
* Sound knowledge of Civil Engineering / Construction methods
* Strong team management and time management skills
* Understanding of CDM 2015 regulations
Salary/Benefits:
* £55,000 - £65,000
* Company car or car allowance
