Job Title: Project Manager – Fire Suppression Systems Installation
Location: Kent
About the Role:
Our client, a leader in fire protection, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the installation of automatic fire suppression systems. This role is integral to ensuring that all projects are completed to British Standards, on time, and within budget, while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction and safety. Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the technical and financial aspects of contracts from start to completion, including variations and final inspections
* Conduct site inspections, lead toolbox talks, and manage material orders
* Professionally represent the company in site and contract meetings
* Ensure adherence to quality and Health & Safety standards across all projects
* Develop and maintain Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and O&M Manuals
* Liaise with clients, third parties, and internal teams to ensure project resources and timelines are managed effectively
* Brief clients and site personnel on project requirements and procedures
* Perform monthly financial assessments to track project costs and progress
* Identify and communicate project issues promptly to senior management
* Propose and implement solutions to resolve project challenges
What We’re Looking For:
* Ability to work independently and provide innovative engineering solutions
* Strong client relationship-building skills, with an emphasis on smooth project handovers
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and motivate others
* Flexibility to manage projects nationwide; a full UK driving license is required
Key Requirements:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Project, CAD, Visio, Prince2, databases, and process mapping
* Familiarity with fire safety standards, including BSEN 12845, BS9251:2014, and BS9990:2015
* Experience in wet and dry riser engineering, ideally with LPC certification (basic/intermediate or full hydraulic calculation)
* Solid project management background in fire sprinkler installation
* Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
