TQR Plymouth has been exclusively appointed by The Focus Training Group, a leading provider of apprenticeships and commercial training courses in the South West, who are seeking a visionary leader to join them as their Managing Director. With a reputation for excellence and a strong presence in both existing and emerging markets, they are ready to take their operations to the next level.

Operating from four state-of-the-art training facilities across the region, delivering top-tier vocational training and partnering with high-profile clients on major infrastructure projects, The Focus Training Group are at the forefront of the training sector, and are excited about what the future holds. The Role

As Managing Director, you'll lead the organisation into a new era of digital innovation and commercial growth. You'll leverage emerging technologies like AI, AR, and VR to enhance service offerings and extend reach across the UK and beyond. This is a transformative phase for the business, and you will drive this growth through your engaging and inspiring leadership style, getting hands on with running the business as well as delivering on your progressive strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities

* Strategic Vision and Leadership: Craft and execute a bold strategic vision for growth, integrating leading digital technologies to enrich services offerings. Lead and inspire your team to surpass ambitious business objectives, driving innovation and success.

* Operational Excellence: Champion operational excellence and set new benchmarks for quality, all while keeping the customer at the heart of every decision.

* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and sustain outstanding relationships with key stakeholders across public and private sector clients, to elevate our market presence and be the face of the business for new and existing clients.

* Financial Oversight: Align all commercial activities with the financial goals of the organisation whilst tracking and driving key financial performance indicators to ensure success.

* Research and Development: Keep the organisation at the cutting edge of the industry through a passion for ongoing research and development and continuous improvement.

* Marketing and Public Relations: Create a powerful Marketing and PR strategy that engages audiences, drives brand recognition and keeps the organisation ahead of the competition.

* Compliance and Quality Management: Foster a culture focused on achieving the best outcomes for students through high-quality program delivery and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

About You

You're a strategic thinker with a proven track record of leadership at an executive level, preferably within the education or training sector. You're adept at inspiring and motivating people and developing mutually beneficial commercial relationships. You understand the growth potential presented by emerging digital technologies in the context of vocational training and look to capitalise on the opportunity it presents. You’ll possess the necessary leadership and management know-how coupled with hands-on experience in a senior role, ideally from the training sector.
