Our client is an award-winning and well known, design and engineering consultancy.

We are currently looking to recruit a Principal Engineer (HV Underground Cables) to join the expanding high voltage team, to be based in one of the regional offices (flexible on location). This role could be based in London, Motherwell, Manchester, Warwick, York or Derby.

The role

The Principal Engineer will be leading in the production and control of drawings and technical documents and ensuring quality.
Supporting Directors with the bid process, you will be working on small cable projects ranging from short cable replacements within substations, through to major grid reinforcement projects that involve cable lengths in the 100's of Kms.

We would like to hear from you if you have:

Prove experience in leading the production of all cable designs, calculations, reports and drawings associated with the new or modification of EHV projects from 11kV - 400kV covering EHV cabling and primary design.

This includes the production of bonding/line diagrams, cable rating calculations, induced voltage calculations, short circuit force calculations, thermo-mechanical thrust calculations, pulling tension calculations and production of material specification lists.

BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering

Ideally working toward CEng status

Experience in leading projects

Have worked in a client facing role
