We are seeking a highly organised Machinery and Equipment Manager to oversee and manage all equipment operations for a machinery company. As an Equipment Manager, you will be responsible for managing your team to deliver the maintenance, logistics, and handling of our fleet of equipment, vehicles, and other machinery which are used in the construction industry.

Key Skills & Qualifications

* Proven experience in equipment or fleet management, preferably within the construction or heavy machinery industry.

* Knowledge of vehicle and equipment compliance standards, including LOLER testing.

* Proficiency in using fleet management software and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

* Manage and motivate a small team of people (c7) to deliver on their duties accurately, safely, and in a timely and cost-effective manner and conduct team and individual meetings in line with the company approach.

Fleet and Equipment Management:

* Manage the ‘Fleet Check’ system for tracking and reporting vehicle and equipment status.

* Conduct routine inspections and ensure equipment compliance with safety and operational standards (e.g., forklift LOLER tests).

* Manage the buying, selling, and negotiations for fleet vehicles, including budget planning and insurance oversight.

Logistics & Operations:

* Plan and manage equipment distribution to job sites, ensuring appropriate vehicle use and safe loading/unloading practices.

* Ensure all equipment is safely stored and appropriately organised in adherence with company guidelines, maintaining stock rotation and readiness for hire.

Maintenance & Repairs:

* Schedule and assign work to technicians for equipment repairs, maintenance, and inspection.

* Manage the ordering of spare parts, accessories, and components for both workshop use and service vans.

* Monitor and coordinate responses to equipment breakdowns and customer callouts.

Workshop & Depot Oversight:

* Maintain accurate records for all machinery, including machine service history, LOLER tests, and returned components.

* Ensure tidy and compliant working areas at both Redhill and Reigate depots.

* Conduct regular safety checks and audits on all equipment and vehicles
