The opportunity
Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead EC&I Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering EC&I design within multi-discipline EPCM or EPC projects across various industries.

The role
As a Lead EC&I Engineer, you will lead a team of engineers and designers, ensuring the successful completion of EC&I engineering and design projects within budget, scope, and timeline.

This role can be worked from either our Warrington or Middlesbrough offices.
We offer a flexible working pattern with a minimum of three days in the office per week.

Remuneration and benefits
£70-75K Per Anum+ flexible working conditions, excellent pension, plus many more benefits.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
Lead the EC&I design within multi-discipline engineering projects, managing a team of engineers and designers.
Act as the technical authority for EC&I discipline, supporting the Engineering Manager in achieving business targets.
Oversee projects across the full lifecycle, from concept to commissioning, for sectors such as Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Energy, Utilities, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, and Food.
Manage project scope, budgets, timelines, and change control, ensuring consistency of EC&I design with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Process, and Automation).
Engage with clients to manage expectations and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Ensure the quality of EC&I engineering and design, participating in internal and external design reviews.
Lead one or multiple EC&I projects, providing expert technical support and making independent decisions to address project challenges.
Coordinate with other disciplines to integrate EC&I designs seamlessly into multi-discipline projects.
Monitor and report project progress, costs, and scope changes.You will have the following qualifications and experience 
Previous experience as a Lead EC&I Engineer in multi-discipline engineering projects within an EPCM or EPC environment.
Experience acting as a technical authority or line manager within an engineering team.
In-depth knowledge of EC&I engineering and design, with an understanding of other engineering disciplines (Automation, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Process).
MEng or BEng in EC&I Engineering.
Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (preferred).
TUV Certification (desirable).
Strong understanding of EC&I-related standards (e.g., 7671, 7430, 61508, 61511, ATEX, DSEAR, LV and HV).
Proficient in EC&I design software, including AMTECH, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, Dialux, and Microsoft Office.
Experience in the preparation of EC&I specifications, scopes of work, calculations, drawings, and schedules.
Strong organisational and planning skills with a "one time right" mentality.
Ability to lead and motivate a team, ensuring project targets are met, even when faced with setbacks.
Experience in conducting design reviews and coaching junior engineers and designers.
Strong communication skills to manage client expectations and lead project-related discussions.Get in touch now
