Position: Data Centre Shift Technician
Location: Farnborough
Salary: Up to £50k DOE
Shift Pattern: Continental (Days and Nights, 12 hours at a time)
Are you an experienced technician with a background in critical environments? Do you have a passion for maintaining and operating essential infrastructure in a high-stakes setting? We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Data Centre Shift Technician to join the team, offering the opportunity to work within a dynamic, fast-paced data centre environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Maintenance: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot site electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes of practice.
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Conduct scheduled maintenance on critical equipment to the highest standards, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
Reactive Maintenance: Address day-to-day maintenance tasks and reactive issues related to electrical equipment, HVAC systems, and critical infrastructure.
System Management: Utilise computer-based systems for PPM reporting and feedback; handle fault identification and rectification on electrical and mechanical systems.
Installation & Modifications: Support the installation and modification of electrical services as required.
Communication & Reporting: Maintain clear communication with the Shift Supervisor, providing updates on plant status, ongoing work, and any arising issues.
Equipment Operation: Work with complex systems including Building Management Systems (BMS), UPS systems, emergency lighting, HVAC, and fire detection systems.
What We're Looking For:
Experience: Previous experience in building services or data centre environments is essential.
Qualifications:
City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in electrical services/maintenance.
18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
HV Approved Person and confined space entry trained (preferred).
Skills: Strong technical competency, particularly in systems like UPS, generators, and HVAC. Excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
Additional Attributes: Reliability, integrity, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Willingness to attend off-site training if required.
