Job Title: Housing Manager
Location: East London
Remuneration: Hourly rate from £26.61 to £32
Contract Details: Temporary contract for 4 months with potential to extend
Responsibilities:
Our client, a London borough council, is currently seeking a Housing Manager to join their team. As the Housing Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive and responsive housing management service to a multi-tenure portfolio, with a focus on positive customer outcomes and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for 3 Senior Housing Officers and 2 Void Officers
Develop and implement strategies and policies for the housing management service, ensuring compliance with statutory and legislative requirements.
Work closely with the Council's Community Engagement and Equalities Teams to align housing management matters with corporate priorities and objectives.
Collaborate with the Council's Policy and Equalities teams on initiatives related to the Child Friendly Borough status and matters affecting young people in the borough.
Collaborate with partners in the Community Safety Partnership to effectively respond to Hate Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB).
Manage and deliver outcomes for housing management projects and services.
Provide expertise and specialist advice on housing management policy and strategy to senior officers and colleagues.
Oversee financial management and control systems, including managing service budgets and audit processes.
Work with the Resident Engagement Manager to ensure Tenant Management Organisations comply with statutory and legal requirements.
Proactively address areas of concern to avoid complaints and concerns from residents.
Develop partnerships with relevant agencies, customers, and stakeholders to improve service delivery.
Promote a performance culture with a focus on continuous improvement and customer service.
Ensure compliance with health and safety and fire regulations in council housing stock.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Team Leader in the housing industry.
In-depth knowledge of housing legislations, policies, and decisions.
Familiarity with ASB issues and strategies to address them.
Strong leadership and managerial skills.
Excellent communication and influencing skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with external agencies, customers, and stakeholders.
Commitment to customer-focused service delivery.
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English.
