This is an exciting opportunity to join our client and be part of increasing company profitability and customer satisfaction by purchasing materials in a timely manner and at the lowest cost. You will be managing a team of three Buyers, coordinating all activities related to the procurement of inventory from beginning to end. Daily duties will include:-
Negotiating the lowest possible cost for inventory and freight.
Managing inventory levels; staying within budgets and actively identifying stock outs and reducing surplus.
Developing strong relationships with managers, regional managers, operations managers, outside sales people and vendors to ensure proper inventory levels at all times.
Analyse trends in pricing and sales activity to determine correct timing of purchases.
Advising managers or operations managers on the appropriate suppliers to use.
Implementing purchase contracts that comply with company and government regulations.
Assuring that the product is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company.
Maintaining accurate purchase order prices and vendor cataloguing.
Coordinating appropriate methods needed to distribute inventory in a cost effective manner. The successful candidate will have previous experience within buying/procurement on an international level and managing a small team.
