Are you a Team Leader in a maintenance department looking for an exciting challenge within the food manufacturing industry? This global food manufacturing company in Leicester are looking for a Lead Engineer who can drive forward the operational excellence. Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for leading a team of 8-10 engineers, providing training, monthly one to ones, driving continuous improvements to the lines,  planning the maintenance schedule, coaching and development to upskill the team.

You will need to have a maintenance engineering background in the FMCG or food manufacturing industries with experience of leading teams and be committed to self development.   

This role will operate on a day’s based contract working Monday – Friday. 

The role as a Lead Engineer:

Plan maintenance tasks and ensure they are executed by the team. 

To develop the teams technical knowledge.  

Prioritising work orders and notifications.

Identifying improvement plans through the tracking of maintenance indicators.

Identifying ways in which to reduce losses.

Champion and lead the continuous improvement process.

Qualifications and skills needed for the Lead Engineer role:

Time-served engineer with a Mechanical or Electrical bias.

Level 3 NVQ Engineering Qualification.

Effective communication skills.

Have integrated work system and operational experience.

Hands on experience as an engineer in a manufacturing setting.

Possess a flexible mindset and work as part of a wider team.
