Alexander Steele are currently working in partnership with a Chilled Food Manufacturing business which are recruiting a maintenance manager whcih will lead a small team of engineers. The ideal candidate has expereince leading a team and has a multi skilled background.

Roles + Repsonsibilities

Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of engineers, ensuring effective resource allocation and team performance.

Preventive Maintenance: Implement and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and enhance equipment reliability.

*

Reactive Maintenance: Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, leading troubleshooting efforts to maintain operational efficiency.

*

Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all machinery and engineering activities comply with relevant food safety standards (HACCP, GMP) and health and safety regulations.

*

Project Management: Oversee engineering projects, including equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes.

*

Budget and Cost Control: Manage the engineering department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective maintenance and operations without compromising on safety or quality.

*

Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality assurance, and other departments to ensure seamless operations and continuous improvement.

*

Spares and Inventory Management: Maintain adequate stock levels of spare parts and oversee the timely ordering of materials to minimize production downtime.

*

Equipment Upkeep: Ensure the maintenance of machinery such as mixers, conveyors, depositors, cutters, and flow wrappers, keeping them in top operational condition.

Training and Development: Train staff on best practices for machine operation and basic troubleshooting.

On Offer

* £50,000 - £55,000 salary

* Monday to Friday, 7.30 - 4pm.

* 28 days AL
