Accounts Payable - Global Law firm - London, City - 1 Year FTC

The successful applicant will provide an effective and efficient Accounts Payable disbursement function within the Finance Department.

Key Responsibilities

● Ensure all office, disbursement and professional fee invoices are properly approved and processed in the Elite system.

● Prepare daily payment runs on the firm's on-line banking platform, including international payments.

● Pay disbursements in accordance with SRA regulations.

● Make urgent ad hoc payments as necessary.

● Process remittance advices on a timely basis.

● Reconcile to payment beneficiaries, and resolve supplier statements on a regular basis, identifying discrepancies.

● Undertake regular reviews of all unpaid and unbilled items, and use initiative to clear down such items.

● Deal with third party / payment queries.

● Disbursement transfers and reversals.

● Post payments onto Elite 3E.

● Undertake any other ad hoc duties as may be required.

Key Skills & Experience Required

* A minimum of two years' legal accounts experience.

* Experience with legal disbursements – counsel, experts' fees, etc. an advantage.

* Good knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules.

* Broad understanding of UK VAT legislation and its application to purchase ledger and cash book transactions.

* Experience in an international environment and on-line international payments advantageous.

* Computer literate, with good knowledge of MS Office
