£38,680 - £45,630 basic salary

Introduction

A prominent material handling company in the UK is seeking to grow its specialised door systems division and is in search of an experienced Door Engineer to join their team in the South West. Although the company boasts over 100 members of staff, the door systems division, a newer addition, operates as a smaller department within the larger organisation. Despite its size, the division has secured multiple national contracts with well-known brands and is eager to expand its team. With a family-like atmosphere and the support of a corporate entity, the department currently comprises seven Engineers. Located in the South West, the company houses a sizable manufacturing and training facility, making it advantageous for Engineers to be situated in this region for training and career development purposes.

The company is open to taking Engineers of various skillsets. As a business they cover automatic doors and industrial doors. Applicants do not need to be competent in both disciplines as there is enhanced training and support provided, however, will need to demonstrate a willingness to cover both product types.

The roles cover service, maintenance, and repair of industrial and automatic door systems. Each area has slightly different experience required depending on the amount of auto door or industrial door work in the region.

As a Door Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Installing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of automatic doors manufactured by companies such as Assa Abloy, Record, Geze, Dorma, Stanley, Tormax, Horton, Label, and more.
Installing, servicing, maintaining, and repairing roller shutters, steel doors, industrial doors, sectional doors, fire doors,speed doors, garage doors, gates, and barriers.
Installing and maintaining aluminium doors and windows.
Occasionally working on security equipment such as CCTV, Access control, and alarm systems.
Basic electrical wiring.
Fault finding on electrical, mechanical, and electronic equipment.
Adhering to industry standards such as BS EN 16005 and DHF.

In return, you will receive a remuneration package which includes:

Basic salary of £45,630
Sales bonus
Premium weekday overtime rates at 1.3 and 2.0 depending on time
Weekend overtime paid at 2.0
31 days holiday, increasing to 35 days over length of service

Company pension
£30 overnight allowance when working away. Expectation is 4 nights every two months
£85 per week standby fee when on call (1 in 7). Plus £35 per callout.
