Job Title: HV Supervisor

Location: East Riding of Yorkshire

Salary: Circa £50k + Benefits

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced HV Supervisor to oversee high-voltage (HV) installation projects. The ideal candidate will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry regulations. You will act as the main point of contact for Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), particularly Northern Power, and will be responsible for supervising teams, managing risk assessments, and ensuring project success.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary liaison with the DNOs.

Oversee HV installation projects, including cable installation and jointing up to 33kV.

Ensure strict compliance with HSE regulations and company safety policies.

Supervise and coordinate on-site personnel to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Conduct technical audits of cable installations and jointing works.

Provide expert guidance on electrical testing, inspection, and BS7671 (18th Edition) compliance.

Carry out workplace risk assessments and ensure appropriate risk mitigation.

Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work undertaken.

Participate in ongoing training and development.

Qualifications & Experience:

ONC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.

Minimum 5 years of experience in the electricity supply industry.

HV Authorised Person certification, with switching operations experience.

Strong knowledge of DNOs (e.g. Northern Power), including their operational and technical standards.

Experience in reading mains records and site drawings.

SMSTS / SSSTS certification (essential).

Skills & Competencies:

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent organisation and multitasking abilities.

Proficiency in risk assessments and safety procedures.

Strong technical knowledge of HV/LV installations and jointing.
