The Client

The Role

Responsibility for preparation, creation and delivery to customers of all estimates and quotation associated with the production and manufacturing operations associated with Door-kits and Door-sets; this also includes fire-rated and specialist sets.

Responsibility for pricing tenders, assessing/costing material and labour requirements, preparing programmes and direct enquiries in line with the client submittal dates. Running reports from software, preparing defect schedules and more.

Responsibilities

* Analyse project specifications and blueprints to determine the scope of work and materials needed

* Collaborate with project managers to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimation

* Prepare and review all tender documentation, detailed cost estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs

* Review and analyse historical data to make informed decisions on cost factors and pricing strategies

* Track and monitor project costs throughout the duration of the project, making adjustments as necessary

* Utilising Industry standard software for processing and estimating quotes and orders

* Analyse and Interpret Customer and Architect Drawings & Door Schedules

* Quotation Development: Prepare detailed and accurate quotations, proposals, and cost breakdowns.

* Supplier Liaison: Communicate effectively with sub-contractors and suppliers.

* Assess the level of risk on the project on high risk schemes, discuss with Senior Managers or arrange meeting to discuss / spread the risk

* Continue to develop the pricing schedule, continually develop and update the estimating procedures

About You

* Proven experience in estimating within the Door Set/Kit manufacturing field.

* Technical Skills: Knowledge of available software is essential.

* Relevant manufacturing and production experience from within a door manufacturing industry

* Analytical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret tender drawings and specifications with meticulous attention to detail.

* Personal Attributes: Proactive, friendly and a flexible approach with excellent problem-solving skills.

* Ability to work independently and hit the ground running.

* Proven experience as an estimator in the doors/joinery industry

* Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes

* Proficient in using cost estimating software and tools

* Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail

* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

* Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and present cost estimates to clients or management

* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Qualifications and Education

HND/BTEC Professional level qualification manufacturing/ engineering sector

Understanding of H&S safe working practices

ERP/MRP understanding and knowledge

Understanding of manufacturing and procurement supply chain
