About the role: We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant school in Barking & Dagenham, working with a diverse group of children in a Year 3 classroom that has evolved from an Additional Resource Provision (ARP) into a supportive, inclusive learning environment. This full-time, long-term position is perfect for someone who is ready to "get their hands dirty" and be a positive role model for children, particularly those with SEN and SEND needs. You’ll be part of a team dedicated to boosting confidence, academic skills, and social development through a mix of 1:1 and small-group interventions. Team Teach training is essential for this role, as you will be working closely with students who require structured, nurturing support to thrive.

Application Requirements:

• Experience in a similar role, especially in Key Stage 1 and/or working with SEN students.
• Team Teach training (essential).
• A proactive, compassionate approach with a genuine commitment to helping children succeed.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
• A flexible and resilient attitude, ready to adapt to the diverse needs of the students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to Key Stage 1 students, focusing on boosters and interventions.
• Work within a Year 3 classroom to support students with SEN and SEND needs, promoting their social and emotional development.
• Implement Team Teach strategies to ensure a safe, structured learning environment.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt lessons and resources for individual needs.
• Support both academic and social learning, helping students to build confidence and independence.
