Role Details:
A leading defence and aerospace company is looking for a Model-Based Systems Engineer to join their team on a contract basis - this is an exciting role, supporting on the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP).
You will directly support Digital Engineering transformation by working closely with the MBSE Lead to drive initiatives and deliver exceptional value to our key project stakeholders.
Developing and evolving MBSE methodology
Developing and maintaining SysML profiles, libraries and model templates in Cameo System Modeler
Supporting the development and delivery of internal MBSE training
Providing guidance to projects on MBSE activities and initiatives
Mentoring and coaching engineers in the application of MBSE best practice
Conducting reviews of various SysML models
Articulating the benefits of MBSE to internal and external stakeholders.
What we are looking for from you:
You will have an engineering-based degree or equivalent systems engineering experience. Electronic warfare domain knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
What we are looking for are senior/principle systems engineer with at least intermediate level MBSE experience who can hit the ground running but still have scope to grow and develop their MBSE skills.
Ideally you will have experience in the following areas:
Applying MBSE across the entire system development lifecycle.
Experience with one or more SysML modelling tools (Cameo Systems Modeler/MagicDraw, Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect, PTC Integrity Modeler, IBM Rational Rhapsody etc.
Experience in using existing one or more MBSE frameworks/methods; Rhapsody Rationale, OOSEM, MagicGrid, SYSMOD etc.
Functional and physical architecture definition using SysML
Experience in developing SysML/UML profiles
Experience of engineering gate reviews and the associated assessment of design compliance/maturity.
Proficient at requirements elicitation, negotiation and definition.
Strong numerical and analytical ability.
Ability to cope with a high degree of design complexity and significant levels of uncertainty.
Experience of supporting design / delivery teams to develop complex, technical solutions in accordance with plans and processes.
Self-motivated with an aptitude for problem solving and driving difficult issues to conclusion.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience of working with different levels of internal and external stakeholders.
